I welcome you all to my newly designed bedroom! I recently re-painted and got a few new bits of furniture (notably a desk, something I've been pining after for ages..it can't be healthy to use your bed as a desk, ha!). I'm also absolutely obsessive when it comes to flowers, I would have them everywhere if I could. If you're interested (which I'm sure you're not as it is quite tedious) my favourites are white tulips. I find they just add the perfect finishing touch and my mood is always 10 times better with flowers in my room. I saw a picture on tumblr of a transparent chair and ever since I've been on the hunt for one and luckily on a trip to Ikea last week I found this one for £65, here's a link on their website. I thought it looked kind of like a unique designer piece despite it being in what seems like the biggest mass furniture store ever. I actually saw the picture with some fur or shearling thrown over the back of the chair and as you can see I pretty much copied that idea (or took 'inspiration' from I should really say). I've had the star piece and the 'H' block for years now but I think they work so well in my room because of the beams. I really love the angles of this room even though there is sometimes a bit of ducking to do and a few bumps to the head. My dad being the architect he is had a great time designing the shapes in our loft and its worked out quite well I think. The open clothes rail is also another of my favourite things about the room, it tucks away nicely under the beam as well. If you have any questions or queries I would be more than happy to answer. If you have a 'room tour' please link me it, I'm always keen to see peoples rooms as interior design is something I'm really getting into.
Some interior inspiration links for the avid designers amongst you-
1)I love The Gifts Of Life's tumblr and Vintage Luxe for inspiration.
2)Also I loved the images from this house in Copenhagen for the style files.
3)I particularly liked the design in this image on flickr.
4)Cox & Cox is a great online shop for unique decorative pieces.
5)I loved the use of space in this 'tiny house', especially the loft room.
7)Loved this rustic mirror.
